Suggestive forests and divine beaches

The majority of Calabria’s soil is part of “Parco della Calabria” (National Park of Calabria),  spread among some of the most striking and wild areas of Calabria with immense forests, rolling plateaus and breath-taking landscapes. The Park, which covers more than 17 000 hectares, is divided into three parts. In the North we find Sila Grande and Sila Piccola, Calabria highlands. La Sila is covered by the evocative forests with tons of rivers. A very attractive city, Camigliatello, is one of the best starting points to discover La Sila both in summer and winter time.

Aspromonte is, instead, the third part of the National Park. Here, the mountains slopes down to the water form terraces looking the sea and Sicily. The Aspromonte has brutally curvy and narrow roads. The area, some of which is rugged and full of caves,  is a perfect natural environment for hiking and other nature activities like trekking, Mountain bike, Canyoning and horse riding.

When you think of Calabria though the first things that show up in your mind are pretty different: turquoise waters, rocky coves and velvety beaches like you just landed in paradise. From June to September Calabria opens its coastal resorts inviting people to join the amazing experience that its coasts can offer.

The city of Tropea runs like a terra cotta-colored river down the mountain and culminates in a broad terrace at the waterfront. Between Tropea and Nicotera, especially in the area around Parghelia and Capo Vaticano is a series of gorgeous rocky inlets whit herons and white beaches.
