Lake Garda - the south eastern side

A ‘Must Go’ Destination that makes the difference

Located in the northern part of Italy, Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake. This lake was formed due to the formation of glaciers in the alpine region during the end of the Ice age. The lake comes up with a fascinating display of scenic beauty that will leave even the dumbest person in the world awe-struck. Such has been the beauty of this place, that the lake has been the source of inspiration behind innumerable creations of world’s some of the best artists, authors and poets.

The lake, being a colossal one, has been divided into three provinces – Province of Trento – at the northern part of the lake, the Province of Verona, which stretches from north to south-est, and the Province of Brescia that stretches from south-west to north. Such is the structure of the lake, that it widens towards its southern part, which is predominantly surrounded by mountains that give rise to a fjord-like pattern, and provides a very mild and soothing variety of climate that varies by quite an extent from the customary Mediterranean climate that we all know of.

Gruppo del Baldo Mountains surrounds the lake in the north, which has made the northern part of the lake narrower than the other parts. While visiting the south-east zone of the lake, you are bound to enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake – the dotted small islands accentuate its beauty. There are 5 main islands and the largest of them is the Isola del Garda. Three other islands are Isola di Trimelone, Isola dell'Olivo, and Isola di Sogno.

When we speak about the south eastern zone of the lake, that mainly includes Torri del Benaco, Garda, Bardolino, Lazise, Castelnuovo del Garda, and Peschiera del Garda.

All these are tiny towns of communes, as they are called and each of them comes up with a handful of uniqueness and some one of its kind features, which distinctively differentiate each of these communes from the other.

Each of these places is rich in medieval churches and buildings, roadside cafes, and restaurants, lavish to moderate hotels, bars and shops selling mementos and artifacts, all of which combine seamlessly to provide a ‘happening’ tinge to the entire region.
